No more New Jersey spring

2026/08/02

In my opinion, New Jersey used to have the best of all weather in America. It had all the seasons and each offered something unique. I remember Halloween when the leaves were changing. I remember all the flowers blooming in spring. I remember the beach in the summer and skiing in the winter.

However, my wife has moved to New Jersey recently and has commented that it's always either too hot or too cold. I was initially reluctant to take this New Jersey slander, but this year I realized she was likely right. The data also seems to back it up.

New Jersey is losing its shoulder seasons like most places in the world due to climate change. It is a small part of the negatives of climate change, but it takes away from one of the joys of living on this big, beautiful rock. The weather defines how you gather with people and when. It's a sad reality that we've fallen into this world.
