I've found the different perspective on John Stuart Mill the most interesting especially with respect to the colonization of India.
Dignity - A book looking at how the long term commercialization of American Life has impacted what living here now looks like.
The Art of Doing Science and Engineering: Learning to Learn - An epistemological look at what it means to be an engineer. This book has done the most for helping me put a lot of the most complex engineering decisions I have to make or understand into context of other disciplines.
